China Publishing House of Electronics Industry (PHEI) was founded in 1982. She is a central first class publishing house, specialized in science and technology and education publishing, and directly administrated under the Ministry of Information Industry. She is dubbed "National Excellent Publishing House" by the Central Publicity Department and the General Administration of Press (GAP) in 1998. From 1999 to 2001, she is annually appraised as an excellent publishing house with good credit and excellent service from the mutual appraisal activities held among presses and bookstores, as organized by GAP. In 2000, she also has the honor of the Advanced Copyright Trade Unit in the activity of "National Exhibition of Copyright Trade Products" held by GAP and National Copyright Bureau.

    PHEI uses professional discipline for product development to assure high quality, and she has become familiar to millions through a diverse publishing program that includes computer, electronic Engineering, Networking and communication, applied electronics, business and management, E-commerce, vehicles and transportation, foreign languages and teaching materials of these fields. Also, she produces electronic media products, CD, VCD, DVD. She is credited as the national textbooks publishing base by Education Department. She has been honored many times by the former National Education Committee and Education Department as "Advanced Unit of National Textbooks Publishing". Her textbooks can meet all-level demands of readers, ranging from Elementary School Education to postgraduate education, and touch upon every field of information technology and the related areas. Her overall publishing capacity and economic strength stands in the front of national publishing houses, well-known by national publishing field and readers.

    PHEI publishes annually over 1,000 new books and 350 multimedia publications. A total of over 9,000 books and 1,500 electronic publications are currently available and more than 2000 units of the high-qualified imported titles are aiming at all kinds of readers. In 2002, her gross product topped RMB 420 million and the annual sales reached an all-time high of RMB 380 million. Meanwhile, she keeps fast and sustaining development.

To speed up the internationalization, PHEI takes an active part in international cooperation, and respects intellectual property rights. Since the early 90's last century, she has built up excellent and successful cooperation and communication with over 100 foreign publishers such as those in U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Hongkong District and Taiwan District, and with many IT enterprises in the world. She introduces into advanced international science and education and keeps importing approximately 450 foriegn titles. She has accumulatively introduced into more than 2000 titles, which dubbed her the second largest importer among all publishers in China. In the meantime, she exports many good publications with our own characteristic abroad and to overseas companies as well.

    PHEI has constructed the advanced publishing system based on Internet and Intranet, providing platform of efficient management of flow of materials, information and fund. She is the first publishing house who has passed ISO 9001, a promise of high quality publications.
